ndigo Children theory The name Indigo Rising comes from the theory about those regarded to as 'Indigo Children'.

The 'Indigo Children' belief is one that stems from the New Age Movement which suggests that from the late 60's on, the world began to give birth to a new generation of humans. Children, thought to be of a higher state of human evolution.

Indigo Children was the name given, due to the idea that such children could be seen by some to have an Indigo colored aura surrounding them.

Beliefs concerning the exact nature of indigo children are varied, however most believe they show traits such as increased empathy and creativity. Indigo children are also widely acknowledged for their lack of tolerance towards authoritative figures, thus earning them the title of 'system breakers', some finding it impossible to cope with school, office work etc.

Those that study the New Age way of thinking estimate that 90% of people born within the last 25 years are "indigo Children". They are hypersensitive and are highly empathic and intuitive by nature. They can detect, or are in tune with, the thoughts and feelings of others. They are often filled with a strong sense of purpose and the feeling that they need to make a significant difference in the world. The Indigo's supposedly have four distinct personality patterns. The definition of these patterns are:
1) The Artist
2) The Conceptualist
3) The Humanist
4) The Catalyst

The idea behind all of this being simply that the indigo children are no longer the minority. They are the ever growing bulk of todays population coming together to tear down the walls built by those before and reshape the world as they see fit.
